Islamabad, Pakistan — The Secretariat Training Institute (STI), a premier federal government institute responsible for pre-service and in-service capacity building of civil servants, organized an insightful interactive session featuring Dr. Haider Abbas, Director General, National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT), Government of Pakistan.
Dr. Abbas delivered an engaging talk on Emerging Cyber Threats and Their Counter Strategies , focusing on the evolving threat landscape, global cyber warfare trends, ransomware, social engineering, and critical infrastructure protection. He emphasized the importance of developing cyber resilience, incident preparedness, and a proactive defense posture across public sector organizations.
The session, held as part of the Domain-Specific Training for the Mid-Career Management Course (MCMC) participants, provided valuable insights into strengthening the cybersecurity culture within government institutions. He emphasized on the practical guidance on integrating cybersecurity best practices into governance, policy, and operational frameworks.
Dr. Abbas also highlighted the ongoing initiatives of National CERT to build a secure and digitally resilient Pakistan through national coordination, threat intelligence sharing, and capacity building.
