These trainings were held under the Security Awareness for Female Empowerment and Resilience (SAFER) program, which focuses on enhancing the digital safety, confidence and resilience of women and girls.
Mr. Khurram Javed, Director Capacity Building, led a comprehensive session on cybersecurity awareness, equipping participants with essential knowledge on protecting personal data, recognizing cyber threats and adopting secure digital practices. He also stressed the importance of identifying different forms of cyber harassment, taking appropriate first response steps and using formal reporting mechanisms, enabling participants to act as responsible and informed digital citizens.
Ms. Zaheema Iqbal, Assistant Director Advisory & Communications, delivered an in-depth session on the misuse of AI deepfakes targeting women, highlighting the growing risks of manipulated digital content. She outlined practical safety measures, reporting channels and confidence-building strategies to help young girls navigate online spaces securely and assertively.
Participants showed strong engagement throughout the sessions, reflecting their eagerness to strengthen their understanding of digital safety and responsible online behavior. National CERT remains committed to empowering women and youth with the knowledge and tools needed to stay safe online, with additional sessions planned across the country under this initiative.
