Ms. Zaheema outlined the evolution of Pakistanโ€™s cyber legislation, highlighting major frameworks such as PECA, the Digital Nation Act 2025, the AI Policy 2025, and the Data Protection Bill. She emphasized their significance in strengthening the countryโ€™s cybersecurity and data governance landscape. She also underscored the importance of aligning national regulations with international standards, referencing globally recognized frameworks such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The discussion emphasized the need for Pakistan to adopt international best practices in data protection, digital rights, institutional capacity building, and cross-sector collaboration.
