๐๐๐น๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฑ, ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป โ The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) of Pakistan successfully conducted a Comprehensive Cybersecurity Training session for the officials of the Ministry of Interior & Narcotics Control at the Ministryโs headquarters. The initiative was designed in alignment with the National CERTโs Training Guidelines, aiming to strengthen cybersecurity resilience and awareness across all organizational levels. The training addressed the distinct learning needs of participants from various tiers including end users, operational staff, and senior management ensuring a holistic understanding of cybersecurity practices, threats, and mitigation strategies.
The session was led by Director General National CERT, Dr. Haider Abbas, TI, who elaborated on the evolving global cyber landscape and the increasing significance of cybersecurity in modern hybrid warfare. He emphasized the necessity of safeguarding Pakistanโs critical information infrastructure and enhancing the national cybersecurity posture through proactive measures. Dr. Haider underscored National CERTโs pivotal role in strengthening cyber defense mechanisms, fostering inter-agency coordination, and promoting capacity building to counter the growing sophistication of cyber threats.
Following this, Mr. Imran Haider, Assistant Director Trainings conducted a detailed and interactive session covering social engineering, behavioral security, misinformation and disinformation awareness, cyber hygiene, and practical strategies for identifying, preventing, and responding to cyber incidents. The session highlighted the importance of cultivating a cyber-aware organizational culture, where every individual understands their role in maintaining a secure digital environment. Through real-world examples and scenario-based discussions, participants gained valuable insights into adopting preventive cybersecurity measures in their day-to-day operations.
