𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻, 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 – The Director General of the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT), Dr. Haider Abbas, TI conducted an insightful session on Data Protection and Cybersecurity for senior officials of the Federal Board of Revenue at Regional Head Office, Multan. The session aimed to enhance the cybersecurity framework within the FBR and enhance the organization’s readiness to tackle evolving cyber threats.

The interactive session addressed critical areas such as safeguarding sensitive taxpayer data, combating cyberattacks, and implementing National best practices in cybersecurity. Dr. Abbas emphasized the importance of adopting robust data protection measures and highlighted strategies to mitigate risks posed by ransomware, phishing, and other cyber threats.

“In today’s interconnected world, protecting sensitive data is not just an operational requirement but a national imperative. FBR’s role as the custodian of critical financial data makes it essential to integrate cutting-edge cybersecurity measures and cultivate a culture of cyber resilience,” said Dr. Abbas during the session.

The DG National CERT also underscored the significance of capacity building and proactive risk management, offering tailored recommendations to strengthen FBR’s cybersecurity infrastructure. The FBR officials commended the National CERT for its continued support in addressing cybersecurity challenges and appreciated Dr. Abbas for his comprehensive guidance. The session marks a significant step towards fostering collaboration between government entities to ensure the protection of Pakistan’s digital assets and infrastructure.
