๐๐๐น๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฑ, ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป โ The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) of Pakistan actively participated in a three-day basic-level Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) Training. Organized by the International International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), the workshop brought together key national institutions including FIA, NCCIA, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and ICMPD to strengthen collective efforts against cyber-enabled trafficking and fraudulent recruitment schemes. The training was attended by Ms. Zaheema Iqbal, Ms. Asia Bibi, Ms. Maryam Jalees, Mr. Osama Manzoor, and Mr. Muhammad Usman.
Led by international cybersecurity experts Mr. Lukas Viliam and Mr. Michael, the training delivered comprehensive insights into cyber-facilitated exploitation, digital evidence handling, and the evolving role of blockchain and virtual currencies in recruitment fraud. Participants gained hands-on exposure to OSINT tools, investigative techniques, and AI-driven analytical approaches relevant to modern law-enforcement and cyber response operations.
The programme also explored the influence of social media manipulation, hybrid threats, and disinformation trends linked to fraudulent job networks. A dedicated inter-agency consolidation session on the final day enabled deeper cooperation among the attending organizations.
National CERT remains committed to advancing Pakistanโs cybersecurity posture, enhancing cross-agency coordination, and supporting initiatives under the Preventing Fraudulent Job Advertisements and Cyber Activity as a Facilitator of Irregular Migration and Trafficking in Human Beings (FJA-PAK) framework to protect citizens, especially aspiring migrants from online exploitation and deception.
