๐๐๐น๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฑ, ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป โ The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) of Pakistan successfully concluded its 2-day Comprehensive Cybersecurity Training at the Secretariat Training Institute (STI), Establishment Division, aimed at empowering early career civil services officers with critical cybersecurity knowledge and skills. Building on the strong foundation laid on Day 1, the final day focused on practical applications and hands-on strategies to enhance cybersecurity resilience among early career officers.
Day 2 featured two highly engaging sessions designed to build practical competencies. The first session, โCybersecurity Resilience through Safe and Secure Usage of Technology,โ was delivered by Mr. Khurram Javed, Director Capacity Building. Participants learned key strategies for maintaining personal and organizational cybersecurity hygiene, identifying potential threats, and implementing safe digital practices to enhance overall resilience in government operations.
The second session, a hands-on demonstration titled โInside a Hackerโs Mind โ From Spoofing to Data Breaches: How Cyber Attacks Really Work,โ was conducted by Mr. Zain Ul Hassan, Deputy Director, Red Team. This interactive session provided participants with a practical understanding of attacker methodologies: from spoofing and social engineering to simulated data breaches while also covering proactive defense strategies and simulated offensive techniques, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive security measures to protect critical government systems and sensitive information.
The 2-day training concluded with a certificate award ceremony, recognizing the active participation and commitment of all attendees. Notes of appreciation were also extended to National CERT by the Secretariat Training Institute, reflecting the high value and impact of the training. Through this training, National CERT reinforced its commitment to equipping officers with the expertise and confidence needed to safeguard Pakistanโs digital landscape and strengthen national cybersecurity frameworks.
