๐๐๐น๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฑ, ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป โ The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) of Pakistan conducted a training on โCyber Hygiene in Health Servicesโ at its Headquarters. Designed in line with National CERTโs Cybersecurity Training Guidelines, the session was tailored for Doctors from the Border Health Services (BHS) under the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination Islamabad (NHSRC).
Mr. Khurram Javed, Director Capacity Building, delivered the session emphasizing the importance of safeguarding sensitive health information in an increasingly digital environment. Participants were enlightened on adopting robust cyber hygiene practices to prevent data breaches, unauthorized access, and cyberattacks, while also aligning with international best practices and compliance measures under the International Health Regulations.
The session particularly focused on reducing human errorโone of the leading causes of cybersecurity incidentsโby sensitizing doctors and medical staff on practical strategies such as recognizing phishing attempts, securing medical devices and systems, improving digital behavior, and ensuring proper handling of patient records. The session was highly interactive, and participants took keen interest, actively engaging in discussions and sharing their perspectives.
This initiative reflects National CERTโs continued commitment to enhancing cyber resilience across vital sectors in Pakistan. By equipping healthcare professionals with the necessary knowledge and tools, National CERT reaffirms its role in fostering a secure and digitally resilient environment for the Nationโs Health Services.
