𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗧 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗜𝗧𝗧’𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲

𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗕, 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗱, 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 — The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) of Pakistan contributed to the Ministry Of IT & Telecom's comprehensive training program for Digital Transformation Officers (DTOs) and Primary Data Officers (PDOs), co-organized by the National Information Technology Board -NITB. This initiative, held at NITB, forms a key part of the “Digital Nation Pakistan” vision of the Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, aimed at equipping government officers with essential digital competencies.

Director General National CERT, Dr. Haider Abbas, TI, delivered an insightful session on “Navigating the Future: Digital Transformation and Emerging Technologies.” He highlighted the strategic role of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cybersecurity in shaping Pakistan’s digital resilience, while also addressing the evolving cyber threat landscape, attack sophistication, and disruptive innovations impacting national security. He further emphasized the importance of aligning Pakistan’s digital journey with international standards to ensure competitiveness and global relevance.

Ms. Zaheema Iqbal, Assistant Director (Advisories & Communications) at National CERT, led a session on the key pillars of digital transformation, the crucial roles of the Digital Transformation Officer and the Data Privacy Officer, the importance of GDPR compliance, and lessons from global best practices in building citizen-centric, secure digital ecosystems. Mr. Khawaja Mansoor Ul Hassan, Information Security Auditor at National CERT, conducted a technical session on “Guidelines for Cybersecurity Implementation,” equipping officers with practical approaches for strengthening organizational security posture. He highlighted that effective digital transformation cannot succeed without embedding robust cybersecurity considerations at every stage of the process.

Collectively, these sessions underscored the critical role of cybersecurity, digital governance strategies, and international benchmarks in building a secure, resilient, and future-ready digital ecosystem for Pakistan. National CERT reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Government of Pakistan in advancing a digitally empowered, innovation-driven, and secure public sector under the Digital Pakistan initiative.
