The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) of Pakistan successfully conducted a comprehensive 2-Day operational and implementation-focused training on Integrated Cybersecurity Governance & Secure Technology Adoption for Civil Servants as part of the 45th Mid-Career Management Course (16th DST) at the Secretariat Training Institute (STI), Establishment Division. The training covered key areas including cybersecurity governance, policy making, adoption of AI and emerging technologies, risk and threat assessment. Aligned with National CERTโ€™s Training Guidelines, the sessions equipped participants with essential expertise, practical insights and demonstrations, underscoring the growing recognition of cybersecurity as a strategic national priority.

The training was delivered by Mr. Imran Haider, Assistant Director Training; Dr. Mehreen Afzal, Director GRC; Mr. Khurram Javed, Director Capacity Building, and Mr. Zain ul Hassan, Red Team Lead. The attendees actively engaged throughout the sessions, posing insightful questions, participating in scenario-based exercises, and collaborating in group discussions. The practical approach, supported by live demonstrations and real-world case studies, enabled participants to translate theory into practice, strengthening their ability to identify threats, implement security measures and apply cybersecurity governance frameworks effectively.

The impact of the training was significant, equipping mid-career government officials with the knowledge and confidence to drive secure digital transformation initiatives within their respective departments. The training also fostered a culture of proactive risk management and strategic thinking, enabling the audience to make informed decisions that align with national cybersecurity priorities and strengthen public sector resilience against the evolving digital threat landscape.

National CERT remains committed to strengthening national cyber resilience through sustained capacity building, awareness, and strategic collaborations.
