The visit provided an opportunity for the officers to gain insights into Pakistanโ€™s evolving cybersecurity landscape and the institutional mechanisms in place to safeguard the countryโ€™s digital ecosystem.

During the visit, the probationary officers were briefed on National CERTโ€™s mandate, organizational structure, core functions, and role in strengthening Pakistanโ€™s national cybersecurity resilience. The session also highlighted National CERTโ€™s initiatives in cyber threat preparedness, incident response, capacity building, cybersecurity awareness and coordination with relevant public and private sector stakeholders. The briefing further covered National CERTโ€™s international collaborations and partnerships, as well as the various components of its broader Cybersecurity Capacity Building Programme, aimed at enhancing institutional capabilities, developing technical expertise and fostering a culture of cybersecurity across the country.

The visiting officers also toured the National Cyber Security Operations Center (NCSOC), where they were introduced to its capabilities for real-time cyber threat monitoring, detection, analysis and response. The visit provided a practical perspective on the role of technology, institutional coordination and timely intelligence in addressing emerging cyber threats.

National CERT remains committed to strengthening cybersecurity awareness and capacity across Pakistanโ€™s public institutions and nurturing a digitally secure and resilient national ecosystem. Engagements with future civil servants are an important part of building a deeper understanding of cybersecurity as a critical component of national security and effective digital governance.
