The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) of Pakistan successfully commenced its Executive Cybersecurity Leadership Program with the inaugural training session titled โNational Cyber Threat Landscape and Strategic Awarenessโ at its Headquarters. The initiative is tailored for senior management and leadership from Ministries, sector regulators, and public and private sector organizations. The session was attended by senior leadership and executives representing different ministries, academia, and public and private sector organizations, reflecting a whole-of-nation commitment towards strengthening cybersecurity governance and resilience.
The program aims to strengthen executive capacity to lead cybersecurity resilience, enhance governance mechanisms, integrate cybersecurity strategy into organizational planning, and foster a security-conscious organizational culture across institutions. By engaging leadership at the strategic level, National CERT continues to reinforce Pakistanโs national cyber preparedness.
The opening session was delivered by Mr. Haris Shamsi and Mr. Abubakar from Yottabyte, who provided valuable insights into evolving cyber threat trends, real-world case studies, national cybersecurity policies and frameworks, the role of National CERT, and the importance of interagency collaboration. The session also highlighted cyber risk as a critical business, operational, and reputational concern. The interactive nature of the session, coupled with the keen participation of attendees, made the discussion highly enriching and impactful.
