The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) of Pakistan actively participated in the โTraining of Trainers on Digital Literacy & Cyber Safetyโ organized by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in collaboration with TikTok and the Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness (SFEA) at PTA Headquarters. The initiative, held under the Safe Online Future for Teens (SOFT) program, brought together educators and stakeholders to strengthen digital literacy and promote cyber safety for adolescents across Pakistan.
Representing National CERT, Mr. Syed Imran Haider, Assistant Director Trainings, delivered an insightful and forward-looking session on โResponsible AI Adoption and Robust Cybersecurity Practices.โ His training emphasized secure digital behavior, risk-informed AI usage, and the importance of proactive cybersecurity frameworks in safeguarding young users within an increasingly complex digital ecosystem.
The event featured comprehensive sessions including baseline assessments of digital use and lived experiences, experiential learning through real-world cyber threat scenarios, and guided group discussions on emerging risks. Participants also explored social media usage trends among adolescents in Pakistan, core digital threats and safety terminology, and critical issues such as deepfakes, misinformation, and online radicalization. Discussions further highlighted the psychosocial, emotional, and physical impacts of cyber harm on children, reinforcing the need for a child-centered approach to digital safety.
National CERT remains committed to strengthening national cyber resilience through capacity building, awareness initiatives, and collaborative engagements aimed at fostering a secure and responsible digital environment for Pakistanโs youth.
