๐๐๐น๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฑ, ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป โ As part of its nationwide push to build a culture of cybersecurity awareness, the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) conducted a dynamic awareness session under its Cyber Care for Children (CCC) initiative at Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG), F-6/2. This initiative is an essential component of National CERTโs broader Cybersecurity Capacity Building Program, aimed at preparing the younger generation for the evolving challenges of the digital world.
The training aimed to build cyber confidence among students, equipping them with tools and insights to navigate the internet safely. Leading the session, Mr. Khurram Javed, Director Capacity Building, National CERT, covered vital aspects of online security, including how to identify cyber threats, safeguard personal data, and adopt secure browsing habits. Students were introduced to practical tools and best practices for password protection, managing online identities, and recognizing phishing attempts.
A special focus was placed on social media privacy, digital etiquettes, and the risks associated with online gaming and smartphone usage. Mr. Javed also addressed the increasingly relevant issues of cyberbullying and online harassment, equipping students with techniques to protect themselves and seek appropriate help when necessary.
The discussion also delved into responsible use of social media, secure handling of devices, and the importance of privacy settings. Mr. Khurram Javed highlighted the emotional and psychological impact of cyberbullying and online harassment, empowering students to recognize red flags and access support systems.
The students actively contributed to the conversation, raising thoughtful questions and sharing personal storiesโmaking it evident how deeply digital safety concerns resonate with young minds.
Through the Cyber Care for Children (CCC) initiative, National CERT continues to lead efforts in fostering digital resilience and promoting safe online practices across Pakistanโs academic institutions. More sessions are planned nationwide, with the goal of empowering students, parents, and educators to take on the challenges of the digital world.
