𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗧 𝗖𝗼-𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 (𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱) 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗖𝗦-𝗡𝗨𝗦𝗧

𝗥𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶, 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 — The 5th International Conference on Communication Technologies (ComTech-2025), co-organized by the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) in strategic partnership with the Military College Of Signals (MCS), NUST, concluded successfully after two impactful days of dialogue, innovation, and knowledge exchange.

The conference showcased Pakistan’s commitment to securing its digital future through cutting-edge research and international collaboration. Dr. Haider Abbas, TI, Director General, National CERT, opened the conference with an insightful introductory address, setting the tone for the event’s strategic objectives. In his keynote, he emphasized, “Cybersecurity is no longer a luxury—it is a national necessity. As threats evolve, so must our approaches”. A key highlight was the expert panel discussion, “Securing Pakistan’s Digital Landscape: The Role of AI and Cybersecurity,” moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shahzaib Tahir, PhD, and featuring distinguished voices including Prof. Dr. Arnold Beckmann, Prof. Dr. Siraj Ahmed Shaikh, Prof. Dr. Muttukrishnan Rajarajan, and Dr. Abbas himself. The panel laid a forward-looking foundation for integrating AI with cybersecurity to bolster national resilience.

The conference also featured Academic Research Paper Proceedings, with Dr. Mehreen Afzal, Director GRC, and Mr. Khurram Javed, Director Capacity Building, serving as Session Chairs for the Information Security track. Concurrently, the vibrant Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition gave emerging researchers a platform to present innovative ideas with clarity and impact. The judging panel for the 3MT included Dr. Usman Akram (TI), Mr. Khurram Javed, Dr. Farooq Ahmed Bhatti, Dr. Attiq Ahmad, and Mr. Syed Imran Haider.

The conference’s success was made possible by the unwavering dedication of the Capacity Building team at National CERT. Their efforts exemplified the spirit of collaboration and excellence in cybersecurity capacity development.

ComTech-2025 reinforced National CERT’s mission to build a resilient, adaptive, and secure digital ecosystem for Pakistan, marking a significant step toward a smarter and safer digital future.
