๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ, ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป โ The 5th International Conference on Communication Technologies (ComTech-2025), co-organized by the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) in strategic partnership with the Military College Of Signals (MCS), NUST, concluded successfully after two impactful days of dialogue, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
The conference showcased Pakistanโs commitment to securing its digital future through cutting-edge research and international collaboration. Dr. Haider Abbas, TI, Director General, National CERT, opened the conference with an insightful introductory address, setting the tone for the eventโs strategic objectives. In his keynote, he emphasized, โCybersecurity is no longer a luxuryโit is a national necessity. As threats evolve, so must our approachesโ. A key highlight was the expert panel discussion, โSecuring Pakistanโs Digital Landscape: The Role of AI and Cybersecurity,โ moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shahzaib Tahir, PhD, and featuring distinguished voices including Prof. Dr. Arnold Beckmann, Prof. Dr. Siraj Ahmed Shaikh, Prof. Dr. Muttukrishnan Rajarajan, and Dr. Abbas himself. The panel laid a forward-looking foundation for integrating AI with cybersecurity to bolster national resilience.
The conference also featured Academic Research Paper Proceedings, with Dr. Mehreen Afzal, Director GRC, and Mr. Khurram Javed, Director Capacity Building, serving as Session Chairs for the Information Security track. Concurrently, the vibrant Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition gave emerging researchers a platform to present innovative ideas with clarity and impact. The judging panel for the 3MT included Dr. Usman Akram (TI), Mr. Khurram Javed, Dr. Farooq Ahmed Bhatti, Dr. Attiq Ahmad, and Mr. Syed Imran Haider.
