๐๐ช๐๐ฉ๐ฉ๐, ๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฉ๐๐ฃ โ In partnership with Ignite - National Technology Fund and the Ministry of IT and Telecom, the National Computer Emergency Response Team (nCERT) launched the "๐๐บ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ณ ๐๐ข๐ง๐ฆ๐ต๐บ ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ ๐๐ท๐ฆ๐ณ๐บ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฆ - ๐๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ด๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ธ, 2024" in Quetta, marking a significant step towards raising cybersecurity awareness across Pakistan. The training session delivered by Mr. Khurram Javed, Director Capacity Building, National CERT, focused on empowering individuals from all walks of life with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the increasingly complex online environment safely.
The event drew a diverse audience, including students from schools, colleges & universities; educators, corporate entities, professionals and community members, underscoring the broad appeal and critical importance of cyber hygiene in todayโs digital age. The session covered a wide range of essential topics to address the challenges faced by common end users over safe and secure usage of technology. Participants were particularly educated on the prevailing threat landscape including social media related challenges, online transactions, privacy, child online protection, job scams, and online shopping frauds.
The Quetta session is the first in a series of events planned under the "Cyber Safety for Everyone" initiative, reflecting nCERT's ongoing commitment to fostering a safer and more resilient digital landscape in Pakistan. By collaborating with key stakeholders like Ignite and the Ministry of IT and Telecom, nCERT aims to ensure that individuals across the country are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to protect themselves online. The roadshow is a critical component of the National CERTโs Cybersecurity Capacity Building Program to promote cybersecurity awareness and build a culture of vigilance and proactive defense against cyber threats.
