๐ฟ๐โ๐๐๐, ๐ด๐ข๐๐ข๐ ๐ก 20, 2024 โ Dr. Haider Abbas, TI, Director General of the National CERT- Pakistan, was invited as an expert panelist at Forman Christian College, Lahore, where he shared his deep expertise with management, researchers, and faculty on the critical intersection of AI, cybersecurity, and the evolving future of work. During the panel discussion, Dr. Abbas provided a comprehensive evaluation of Pakistan's cybersecurity maturity using the EDUCAUSE Cybersecurity Governance Toolkit as a benchmark. He elaborated on the country's progress, identifying areas for continual improvement to achieve a fully integrated cybersecurity governance structure.
Much of Dr. Abbas's talk focused on the growing threat of AI-generated content, such as deepfakes, which poses challenges in differentiating real information from fabricated media on social platforms. He emphasized the urgency of educating the public to discern between authentic and manipulated content to mitigate the spread of misinformation.
