The National Computer Emergency Response Team (NCERT) recently concluded day 2 of their highly successful training session on Audit & Compliance at the prestigious Nawaz Shaheed Auditorium, Military College of Signals, NUST, Rawalpindi.
The session, held on May 29th, 2024, continued the initiative from day 1 on May 14th, 2024, demonstrating NCERT's commitment to fulfill one of the core objectives of enhancing the cybersecurity posture of government organizations across Pakistan.
The session aimed to align with Pakistan's National Cybersecurity Policy, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and ISO 27001 compliance within the ministries and their affiliated departments. Led by the Director General of National CERT- Pakistan CERT, Dr. Haider Abbas (TI), the session covered critical information assurance topics, including:

The session provided in-depth guidance, using actual case scenarios, to enable ministries to implement Pakistan's National Cybersecurity Policy, deploy international standards, and adhere to guidelines issued by the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and ISO 27001. A large number of participants from various government organizations in Pakistan and students from the National University of Sciences and Technology attended the session. As a follow-up, NUST students have been assigned the task of collaborating with and assisting government sector organizations to initiate the deployment of cybersecurity standards within their organizations, ensuring a sustainable and robust cybersecurity program.
