๐๐๐น๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฑ, ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป โ The National Cyber Emergency Response Team of Pakistan (National CERT) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Commission on the Status of Women, Islamabad (NCSW). This strategic collaboration aims to bolster efforts in promoting cybersecurity awareness and protection for women and children across Pakistan. The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Haider Abbas, TI (Director General, National CERT), and Ms. Ume-Laila Azhar (Chairperson, NCSW) in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.
In light of the growing challenge of technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV), this partnership underscores a joint commitment to ensuring that digital spaces in Pakistan are safe, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of vulnerable groups. Together, National CERT and NCSW will work toward developing robust mechanisms to prevent and respond to online threats targeting women and children.
Key objectives of the MoU include collaborative cybersecurity training, awareness campaigns, research on emerging cyber threats, and the development of gender- and child-sensitive digital safety tools. The partnership will also create opportunities for youth engagement through internships, capacity-building initiatives, and policy-level advocacy to strengthen national cyber resilience.
By joining forces, National CERT and NCSW reaffirm their dedication to safeguarding digital rights and building a cyber environment where all individuals regardless of gender or age can participate securely and confidently. This partnership is a significant step toward a safer and more equitable digital future for Pakistan.
