๐๐๐น๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฑ, ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป โ The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) of Pakistan successfully conducted an interactive session titled โStructuring Cybersecurity: Policies, Procedures & Templatesโ at the COMSTECH Secretariat. The session was organized as part of National CERTโs continued efforts to support the implementation of its Cybersecurity Implementation Guidelines across the public sector.
The event brought together participants from key ministries, divisions, attached departments, sectoral regulators, and academia. Notable attendees included personnel from the Ministry of Defence, Ministry Of IT & Telecom, Economic Affairs Division, Directorate General of Immigration & Passports [DGI&P] Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan, Foreign Affairs Division, ASF, Higher Education Commission (HEC), NEPRA - National Electric Power Regulatory Authority, and institutions such as National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and COMSATS. These participants, primarily from IT and cybersecurity functions, engaged actively in discussions designed to promote uniform policy structures and robust security practices across government entities.
Dr. Dr. Mehreen Afzal, (Director GRC, National CERT) led the core session, offering a comprehensive walkthrough of the cybersecurity policy and procedure templates developed by National CERT. These templates are aimed at helping public sector organizations align with national cybersecurity objectives and operationalize the implementation guidelines effectively. As part of the session, the templates were shared with all participants for ease of access and implementation within their respective organizations.
The session concluded with a vibrant Q&A segment, where Dr. Mehreen Afzal, Mr. Khurram Javed (Director Capacity Building, National CERT) and Mr. Muhammad Naveed (Deputy Secretary, NTISB, Cabinet Division) addressed queries from the participants. National CERT remains committed to strengthening cybersecurity resilience through collaboration, capacity building, and the development of practical implementation tools for all public sector stakeholders.
