The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) of Pakistan successfully conducted a specialized cybersecurity capacity building training at its Headquarters on โSOC Establishment for National Level Cyber Threat Monitoringโ for the officials of Sectoral and Provincial CERTs. Designed in alignment with the National CERTโs Cybersecurity Training Guidelines, the session aimed to strengthen Pakistanโs national cyber defense posture by enabling provincial and sectoral CERTs to establish functional Security Operations Centers (SOCs) for real-time cyber threat monitoring, detection, analysis, and incident response.
The session was delivered by Mr. Adli Bin Wahid, Senior Internet Security Specialist, APNIC, Australia, who shared valuable international expertise and practical insights on modern SOC frameworks and operations. The comprehensive training covered strategic and planning aspects, technical architecture and design, core SOC operations, integration and collaboration mechanisms, along with practical hands-on exercises. Participants included cybersecurity professionals and officials from Sectoral CERTs, Provincial CERTsโ IT/security teams, and key stakeholders from critical infrastructure organizations.
The interactive sessions witnessed keen interest and active participation from the audience, reflecting the growing commitment towards enhancing national cyber resilience and collaborative cybersecurity preparedness across Pakistan.
