๐๐๐น๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฑ, ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป โ The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) of Pakistan has successfully concluded its Summer Internship Program 2026, with 500 students and graduates, representing the top 1% of the total applicants, completing an intensive eight-week training and learning programme focused on strengthening Pakistanโs future cybersecurity workforce.
The culmination of the programme was marked by a certificate distribution ceremony attended by senior officials and participants of the internship programme. DG National CERT, Dr. Haider Abbas, TI, distributed certificates of completion among the interns and addressed the graduating intern cohort.
Over the course of eight weeks, the interns received structured training, practical exposure and mentorship across multiple domains of cybersecurity and related disciplines. These included cyber defense, threat intelligence, digital forensics, incident response, security operations, vulnerability assessment & pen-testing, DevSecOps, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), training & development, and cybersecurity capacity building.
Speaking on the occasion, DG National CERT, Dr. Haider Abbas, TI, emphasized the importance of developing a skilled, capable and future-ready cybersecurity workforce to safeguard Pakistanโs rapidly expanding digital ecosystem. He also appreciated the commitment and enthusiasm demonstrated by the interns throughout the eight-week programme, encouraging them to carry forward the knowledge and experience gained during their internship and contribute positively to Pakistanโs digital future.
