𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗧 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗧𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 “𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗚𝗼𝘃: 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲”

𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗱, 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 – The National CERT successfully conducted another impactful session of the “CyberSecureGov: Cyber Guidelines Initiative,” extending its outreach to designated Provincial CERTs. This session brought together key representatives from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board - KPITB, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), and the Department of Science & Technology and Information Technology, Government of Sindh, fostering an inclusive dialogue on strengthening cybersecurity resilience at the provincial level.

The session was conducted by Dr. Mehreen Afzal, Director GRC, and Mr. Khurram Javed, Director Capacity Building, who led insightful discussions on key cybersecurity strategies and frameworks. Incumbents from KPITB actively participated in the workshop in person, while representatives from PITB and the Science & Information Technology Department, Government of Sindh, joined virtually. The session focused on strategic risk management, institutional preparedness, and cybersecurity implementation frameworks, equipping provincial CERTs with actionable insights to mitigate emerging digital threats. Expert-led discussions reinforced the importance of proactive cybersecurity measures, cross-institutional collaboration, and adherence to national cybersecurity guidelines.

Additionally, the audience was enlightened on the importance of Provincial CERTs and their critical linkage with the National CERT, as outlined in the structure of CERTs defined in the CERT Rules, 2023. This discussion highlighted the need for seamless coordination and an integrated approach to strengthening the national cybersecurity framework. This initiative plays a pivotal role in empowering provincial entities by equipping them with the necessary expertise, tools, and frameworks to enhance their cybersecurity postures. Strengthening the cyber defense capabilities of provinces is crucial in building a unified, nationwide cybersecurity ecosystem, ensuring resilience against sophisticated cyber threats that target both federal and provincial digital infrastructures.

As CyberSecureGov continues to gain momentum, the National CERT remains committed to expanding its reach, fostering a robust and resilient cybersecurity landscape across Pakistan. Future sessions will further strengthen intergovernmental coordination, ensuring a proactive and fortified cybersecurity framework at all administrative levels.
