𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗧 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶, 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 – Dr. Haider Abbas, TI, Director General of National CERT, was invited to speak at the 2nd National Social Protection Conference, held in Karachi from February 24–26, 2025. Representing National CERT at this pivotal forum, Dr. Abbas participated in a fireside chat on "The Role of AI and Cybersecurity in Adaptive Social Protection,“ emphasizing the urgent need for robust digital security frameworks as Pakistan advances its social protection agenda.

Dr. Abbas underscored the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in optimizing social protection mechanisms while warning of the cybersecurity risks associated with increasing digitalization. He highlighted the importance of secure data governance, threat intelligence, and resilient cyber infrastructures to safeguard digital social protection initiatives against evolving cyber threats. His insights resonated strongly with policymakers, development partners, and government officials, reinforcing National CERT’s role in strengthening Pakistan’s cyber resilience in the social sector.

The 2nd National Social Protection Conference, hosted by GIZ Pakistan on behalf of the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)—in partnership with the KfW Development Bank, The World Bank, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the United Nations—provided a strategic platform for discussions on governance, data-driven solutions, and climate resilience in social protection.

National CERT’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance cybersecurity in digital governance and ensure the safe and sustainable implementation of technology-driven social protection initiatives in Pakistan.
