Next-Gen VAPT

National CERT, in collaboration with the ISACA Islamabad Chapter and technology partner CS Zone (Private) Limited, is organizing an online training initiative aimed at strengthening practical, ethical and responsible cybersecurity capacity building in Pakistan.

The training brings together industry professionals, the cybersecurity community, academia and the national cybersecurity ecosystem to promote modern and responsible approaches to application security testing and vulnerability assessment.

The session follows a manual-first methodology, where participants will first identify and analyze potential application-security vulnerabilities and document their assessment decisions. Responsible AI-assisted techniques will then be introduced to demonstrate how AI can support payload development, test-chain construction and improve assessment efficiency. Throughout the process, analyst verification and professional judgment remain essential.

Learning Objectives & Expected Outcomes

Participants will learn to:

1. Apply a structured manual reconnaissance process to identify potential Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), HTML Injection and SQL Injection vulnerabilities.
2. Understand how responsible AI-assisted techniques can accelerate payload development and exploit-chain planning without replacing analyst judgment.
3. Compare manual and AI-assisted approaches while documenting blockers, assumptions, false positives and supporting evidence.
4. Adopt an authorization-based, safe and repeatable hybrid Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) workflow for professional security assessments.
5. Strengthen practical skills for conducting ethical, responsible and evidence-based application security testing.

This training is designed to promote a balanced approach that combines human expertise with responsible AI assistance, helping cybersecurity professionals improve efficiency while maintaining accuracy, accountability and ethical standards.
